Fight Gone Bad

This morning I went to a Crossfit competition called "Fight Gone Bad." Jeremy thinks that the title sounds a little violent, and he would rather we call it, "Peacefully we come together to workout and raise money," but I think his is a little too long of a title!

Here's my Crossfit Family, Carrie and Stephen (the second and third from the left) are the owners/trainers of the gym. Carrie is over 4 months pregnant and even she took part in the workout!
Trying to intimidate the competition..might need to work on that one a little more!
Yep, Jeremy came to be a supportive husband and make sure that I wasn't recruited for American Gladiators while I was there!
First they paired us up with a coach, who would be our official counter. I was paired with Jonathan, a soccer player from Incarnate Word University...he was really helpful!
So here's how the race goes...there are 5 exercises:
(1) Push Press (45lbs)
(2) Rowing Machine
(3) Wall Ball
(4) Sumo Deadlift High Pull (45lbs)
(5) Box Jump (20 inch box)

You do each exercise for one minute, trying to get in as many repetitions as possible.

After your first round (of the 5 exercises) you get one minute of rest...and then you do it all over again! There are three rounds in total.

Here is my first exercise of the day, Push press...you can see I look pretty relaxed here!
Umm, yea, this is the same exercise but on my third round...let's just say I was feeling it by then!
Then the rowing machine...
Then the wall ball...
Then the sumo deadlift high pulls...
Then the box jump... this picture kind cracked me up because it looks like I am worlds away from the box, and you can see my coach trying to get me to use my arm swing to get up on top of the box!
Okay, looking better here!
Here's one of my good friends Nicki getting warmed up for her round. She kicked butt!
And here is Stephen's very last rep on his very last round. He won the whole competition with over 380 reps!
All in all it was a lot of fun! I ended up getting third in my division with 324 reps! It was fun to see how far you can push yourself...stay tuned for next month's Muddy Buddy report...Molly and I are headed out again to beat our time!
