The 4th

Okay, okay... I know I am SUPER late on these. But still, I know you have been waiting to hear about our 4th of July.

We had a great time escaping the TX heat for Iowa, and spending the 4th with Jeremy's parents in Okoboji. We headed over to Arnold's Park, the big gathering center for all things celebratory on the 4th.

Here is Jeremy with his Dad as we're walking into the park.
Check out all the early-bird with their chairs prepped and ready for fireworks... which would start in about 3 hours!!
Me and Jer!
This view of the lake is always so beautiful...check out the boats...already starting to stack up!
Of course, had to take a picture of the Queen. We celebrated our 3 year anniversary while we were in Iowa. Can't forget the rehearsal dinner cruise we took on the Queen 3 years ago!
When we got back home we had a piece of "flag cake." Okay, so this year it didn't really look too much like an American Flag... we were out of strawberries... but it still tasted yummy!
Then we grabbed our chairs and got a good place to sit on the end of the dock. Look at all the lights in the distance. Those are all the boats priming for a good position over at Arnold's Park... directly across the lake!
And the show begins. These snapshots are compliments of Jeremy...
He had a lot of fun taking them!

This one looks like an Indian headdress to me!

So there ya go - and Iowan 4th of July, compliments of the Siefers!
