Okay, so a little late on the birthday update! We went out to dinner at a place called
Coco Chocolate Lounge. They make all things chocolate, so it was a good choice by Jeremy!

We tried the warm fresh herb goat cheese dip for an appetizer. Jeremy got beef burguignon, and I tried the rack of lamb with spiced orange and white chocolate chutney. I know....there was chocolate in everything!

Then for dessert Jeremy had helped make the famous Werner birthday cake...yes, another tradition. This
recipe won the Pillsbury cook-off in 1988, and has been a mainstay in our house ever since!

I had a piece on Sunday, my birthday, and then headed out of town for work. Mind you, I did leave an entire birthday cake behind. But let me tell you how this cake situation went down. I can still vivdly remember the phone call...
Rory: "I am almost back in town from this five hour drive"
Jeremy: "Oh good, glad you are getting close."
Rory: "I can't wait to have a piece of my birthday cake!"
Jeremy: "Oh, about that, maybe we should talk!!?"
Rory: "What do you mean talk?"
Jeremy: "Well, I didn't think you'd be back until Friday, soo...."
Rory:"You ate the WHOLE cake! As in, there is no more of my birthday cake left!"
Jeremy: "Well, it was really good, if that helps!"
So fair warning, if you make this cake for your family, guard your pieces very closely....or else! =)

That is too funny...and totally sounds like something Greg might do ;) Gotta get that recipe!
Haha my comment is basically an exact replica of Jennelle's, except actually I know Phil would, and has, done that before, just not with that particular cake! The recipe does look yummy.
