Tour Guide Duty

This has been a whirlwind week! On Monday night my good friend Chiara arrived, along with her boyfriend Paolo. Chiara and I worked together at Intercos, in Milano Italy, over 6 years ago! I can't believe how quickly time has flown by...I was their official tour guide this week and tried to show them everything Texas!

First I scored them a nice room at the Emily Morgan hotel, just a few feet away from the Alamo, and only $60/night...since I got it through Priceline....gotta love it!

On Wednesday we headed up towards Austin and made a pit stop in Gruene, and of course had to eat at the Gristmill! (notice my really cool bruises from flipping the gigantour tires on Wednesday).

I am happy to say that I introduced them to "ranch sauce" for the first time...and they loved it! Then I tried to tell them that Jeremy puts it on pizza, hamburgers, and pretty much anything he can. This they did not believe!

Then, it just so happened that my Dad was in Austin for the day, so we picked him up and he was our tour guide for the afternoon. Apparently, even though I did take Texas history, and he didn't, he knew more about the Alamo and the State Capital than me. It was great! We hit Whole Foods (where we saw heirloom tomatoes in yellow, orange, and purple...and Chiara was beyond stunned!) "These are NOT tomatoes...Tomatoes are Red!!" Then we went to the Capital and the UT Stadium.
The night wouldn't be complete without a stop at Rudy's!

Molly was our driver, after we watched her win her sand volleyball game at Aussies! All in all a really fun night! Now I just have to go research what a jackalope is...Chiara and Paolo kept asking me about them and I didn't have a good answer! =)

Gristmill and Rudy's - so jealous! I haven't had either in over three years!

It was pretty tasty Felicia! I mean Gristmill and Rudy's all in the same day...that NEVER happens! =) Don't worry I'm paying for it this week with my workouts!

Parkhill let you down on the Texas history, did they?
